DAY CAMP - GRADES 1st - TEENS

Come spend your summer with us!  Each week campers will have the opportunity to participate in activities including outdoor games, arts & crafts, cooking, ping pong, hiking, organized gym activities and science and nature projects. Campers will also be swimming at Highlands Country Club at least twice a week (weather permitting, of course).  All campers will be swim tested the first week they attend the program.  In addition, each week will feature special activities and events related to the themes listed below. (No child is required to attend the trips, there will be plenty to do at camp if your child prefers to stay back). 

TEEN LOUNGE - Traditional camp with a little more freedom for our grades 7 and up campers.  Each week brings the opportunity to take part in all the camp activities listed above.  Participants also have the option to kick back in the Teen Lounge to watch movies, play cards & video games or just hang out.  Teen Lounge campers may attend all the trips listed below.

Time:  9:00am-3:00pm

WEEK 1: JUNE 25-29: SUPERHERO ACADEMY
Do you wish you could bring the comic book heroes to life? Then this is the week for you—see if you have skills to be a hero yourself in our “Beat the Bad Guys Challenge” at week’s end.  Campers in 1st grade and up may go to the movies to see “The Incredibles 2” at Regal Cinemas on Wednesday, June 27th .

WEEK 2: JULY 2-6 (NO JULY 4): HOLIDAZE

Every day is a holiday this week! Come join the fun as we take a trip through the calendar.  We’ll  run through the rainbow (Color Run) on St Patrick’s Day, have an egg hunt, celebrate Halloween and end the week with a Fourth of July BBQ, along with our own version of a fireworks display. Campers in 1st grade and up can go bowling at SPINS Wappingers on Tuesday, July 3rd.

WEEK 3: JULY 9-13: WIZARD WORLD

Ever dream of going to a certain School of Witchcraft & Wizardry?  This may be as close as you get!    We’ll join our houses and make potions, search  for fantastic beasts, go  try our hands at Quidditch (muggle version, of course) sample some magical treats, test our wits and maybe go on a quest before awarding of the House Cup.  Campers in grades 3 & 4 can go to Quassy Amusement Park on  Wednesday, July 11th for an additional $10  and those in grades 5-up many go to Lake Compounce Amusement Park on Thursday, July 12th for an additional $15.

WEEK 4: JULY 16-20: SILVER SCREEN

This week we’ll step inside our favorite movies.  Each day we will explore a different treasured story through fun games, crafts and maybe even a recipe or two.  Campers in 1st & 2nd grades can go to the SCREAMING PARTIES on Wednesday July 18th .  Campers in 3rd grade and up can go to Legoland Discovery Center on Wednesday, July 18th.

WEEK 5: JULY 23-27: VROOM!!

If it moves, we’ll explore it this week.  Make a mini hovercraft, launch a hot air balloon, race remote control vehicles,  see if your boat floats, and end the week with our high-flying rocket launch Friday afternoon!  Campers in 3rd grade and up may go to the Castle Fun Center on Wednesday, July 25th.

WEEK 6: JULY 30 - AUGUST 3: SHIP REC ISLAND
Ahoy, mateys!!! Set sail for adventure and take part in our interactive journey on the high seas. Start by joining a crew and building your team’s pirate ship, and spend the week following Elisha Nelson’s footsteps searching for treasure hidden right here in Philipstown.   Find  missing pieces of the map, have your crewmates walk the plank, take part in our scurviest pirate costume contest and test your hand at swashbuckling before the final ship-to-ship battle to see which crew rules the seas.  Campers in 3rd grade and up can go on a trip to Splashdown Beach for an additional $15 on Wednesday, August 1, 2018.

WEEK 7: AUGUST 6-10: HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Come join us for our twisted take on fairy tales- we’ll revisit old favorites in a new light with activities, crafts and recipes designed to keep everyone laughing and having fun! Campers in 1st grade and up can go to Hurd’s Family Farm on August 8th.

WEEK 8: AUGUST 13-17: TEAM SPIRIT
Which team will get the gold in our end-of-summer competition week?   There’s something for everyone; sports competitions, trivia blasts and an assortment of wacky events designed to keep everyone laughing and having fun.  Find out who’ll wear this year’s gold medal at the Friday awards barbecue, followed by our camp-wide carnival and summer’s end water balloon bash.
