The Philipstown Depot Theatre is located at the Garrison Landing, in Garrison, New York. Operated by the Philipstown Recreation Department and the Philipstown Performing Art Corporation, the Depot theatre offers a variety of community performing arts oppertunities including stage productions, youth and adult classes, music tracks and more. GLEEFUL PROJECT
The highly successful fall production of “GLEEful!” has lead to much demand for more singing, acting and dancing! Thus, “The GLEEful Project” is born. Join Lisa to learn vocal, acting and performance skills while having a blast! Along with group numbers, Lisa will give each participant songs and scenes that highlight their individual strengths. Each child can participate at whatever level he/she is comfortable with.
Session I
Grades 1-3 & 4-8
Parents and friends are invited to the last class on March 30th for an informal workshop performance. Please register with the Philipstown Recreation Department for Session 1 now by calling 845-424-4618.

IMPROV FROM ADULTS AND TEENS
Using a method derived from Los Angeles’ Groundlings Theater, this 8 week class will teach students the fundamental building blocks of short-form improvisational comedy. Through improv-games,scene study and various exercises, students will learn to overcome their inhibitions and spontaneously create short, comic scenes based on audience suggestions by:
* Continuously adding information to the scene
* Quickly establishing the who, what, when, where, and why
* Employing space-work (mime)
* Learning the importance of agreement and acceptance
* Using emotional adjustments
* Making strong character choices
* Labeling and Endowment
* Paying careful attention to their partner’s hints,cues and suggestions
